A mango wood round coffee table in solid mango wood, made one at a time rather than run off a line. Round solid mango wood coffee table with deep stained finish, recessed edge detail, and cross-base design. Finished in deep stained finish, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 42 x 24 x 18 in (107 x 61 x 46 cm) and weighs about 22.1 kg.
