Mango Wood Coffee Table 13

A mango wood coffee table 13 in solid mango wood, made the way furniture was made before it was flat-packed. Finished in honey, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 42 x 24 x 18 in (107 x 61 x 46 cm) and weighs about 22.1 kg.
