Mango Wood Coffee Table 20

A mango wood coffee table 20 in solid mango wood, cut, joined and finished by hand. Finished in honey, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 42 x 24 x 18 in (107 x 61 x 46 cm) and weighs about 22.1 kg.
