Stainless Steel Knife Set

A teak wood knife set in solid teak, made the way furniture was made before it was flat-packed. 14-piece stainless steel knife set including chef, bread, utility, paring and steak knives plus kitchen shears, stored in a wood block. Finished in natural teak, with the grain left where you can see it. Teak carries its own oils, which is why it takes heat, damp and years of use better than anything else we work with. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 10 x 2 x 1 in (25 x 5 x 3 cm) and weighs about 0.3 kg.
