Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 16 x 10 x 2 in (41 x 25 x 5 cm) and weighs about 2.1 kg.
