A mango wood serving tray 3 in solid mango wood, made the way furniture was made before it was flat-packed. Mango Wood Scalloped Tray, Natural. Finished in honey, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 16 x 10 x 2 in (41 x 25 x 5 cm) and weighs about 1.6 kg.
