Sheesham is the wood Saharanpur is known for: dense North Indian rosewood, deep brown, and the first choice of our carvers. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 30 x 34 x 34 in (76 x 86 x 86 cm) and weighs about 46.6 kg.
