Sheesham Wood Hand-Carved Ottoman Stool

A sheesham wood hand-carved ottoman stool built to order in solid sheesham in our Saharanpur workshop. Shena hand-carved wood turtle ottoman stool with brown faux leather, walnut finish and brass tacks. Finished in walnut, with the grain left where you can see it. Sheesham is the wood Saharanpur is known for: dense North Indian rosewood, deep brown, and the first choice of our carvers. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 28 x 21 x 9.5 in (71 x 53 x 24 cm) and weighs about 7.5 kg.
