Sheesham Wood 6-Drawer Standard Chest

A sheesham wood 6-drawer standard chest built to order in solid sheesham in our Saharanpur workshop. Jacon 6-drawer standard chest. Finished in walnut, with the grain left where you can see it. Sheesham is the wood Saharanpur is known for: dense North Indian rosewood, deep brown, and the first choice of our carvers. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 36 x 18 x 36 in (91 x 46 x 91 cm) and weighs about 56.4 kg.
