Mango Wood Sideboard/Buffet

A mango wood sideboard/buffet in solid mango wood, made one at a time rather than run off a line. Sideboard buffet with six interior shelves, three cabinet doors with woven raffia paneling and black knobs, handcrafted from solid mango wood. Finished in natural stain, nc lacquer, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 60 x 18 x 32 in (152 x 46 x 81 cm) and weighs about 52.7 kg.
