Mango Wood Round Hand-Carved Decorative Vase

A mango wood round hand-carved decorative vase built to order in solid mango wood in our Saharanpur workshop. Round decorative vase crafted from natural Paulownia wood, softly rounded silhouette, hand-carved feel. Finished in natural finish, rounded silhouette, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 5.5 x 5.5 x 11.5 in (14 x 14 x 29 cm) and weighs about 0.5 kg.
