Mango Wood Round Hand-Carved Accent Table

A mango wood round hand-carved accent table in solid mango wood, cut, joined and finished by hand. Round carved wood accent table, espresso, 18 inch round top x 18 inch height. Finished in espresso / burnt finish, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 18 x 18 x 24 in (46 x 46 x 61 cm) and weighs about 11.1 kg.
