Mango Wood Hand-Carved TV Stand 2

A mango wood hand-carved tv stand 2 in solid mango wood, made the way furniture was made before it was flat-packed. Bloom 63.5 inch solid wood TV stand, 4-door media console with hand-carved radial facade, sculptural statement cabinet. Finished in burnt black, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 60 x 16 x 20 in (152 x 41 x 51 cm) and weighs about 27.3 kg.
