Mango Wood Hand-Carved TV Cabinet 3

A mango wood hand-carved tv cabinet 3 in solid mango wood, cut, joined and finished by hand. Vintage solid wood carved TV cabinet. Finished in honey, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 60 x 16 x 20 in (152 x 41 x 51 cm) and weighs about 27.3 kg.
