Mango Wood Hand-Carved Storage End Table

A mango wood hand-carved storage end table in solid mango wood, made the way furniture was made before it was flat-packed. 30.5 inch tall vintage hollow carved door wood end table with storage shelf, natural finish. Finished in natural, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 18 x 18 x 24 in (46 x 46 x 61 cm) and weighs about 11.1 kg.
