Mango Wood End Table

A mango wood end table in solid mango wood, made the way furniture was made before it was flat-packed. Hand-crafted end table with a reclaimed-look finish and natural distressing for rustic character. Finished in distressed natural finish, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 18 x 18 x 24 in (46 x 46 x 61 cm) and weighs about 11.1 kg.
