Finished in natural teak, with the grain left where you can see it. Teak carries its own oils, which is why it takes heat, damp and years of use better than anything else we work with. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 24 x 24 x 26 in (61 x 61 x 66 cm) and weighs about 25.0 kg.
