Finished in natural teak, with the grain left where you can see it. Teak carries its own oils, which is why it takes heat, damp and years of use better than anything else we work with. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 32 x 12 x 32 in (81 x 30 x 81 cm) and weighs about 19.2 kg.
