A sheesham wood swivel recliner with ottoman in solid sheesham, made one at a time rather than run off a line. Contemporary faux leather recliner and matching ottoman set on a swiveling mahogany wood base. Finished in walnut, with the grain left where you can see it. Sheesham is the wood Saharanpur is known for: dense North Indian rosewood, deep brown, and the first choice of our carvers. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 32 x 36 x 40 in (81 x 91 x 102 cm) and weighs about 74.3 kg.
