A sheesham wood storage cabinet 4 built to order in solid sheesham in our Saharanpur workshop. Solid wood storage cabinet. Finished in walnut, with the grain left where you can see it. Sheesham is the wood Saharanpur is known for: dense North Indian rosewood, deep brown, and the first choice of our carvers. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 36 x 16 x 40 in (91 x 41 x 102 cm) and weighs about 49.5 kg.
