A sheesham wood hand-carved loveseat in solid sheesham, cut, joined and finished by hand. Sabahat carved wood traditional loveseat. Finished in walnut, with the grain left where you can see it. Sheesham is the wood Saharanpur is known for: dense North Indian rosewood, deep brown, and the first choice of our carvers. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 120 x 36 x 32 in (305 x 91 x 81 cm) and weighs about 185.8 kg.
