A acacia wood round cat bed / toy in solid acacia, made one at a time rather than run off a line. Playful space-capsule-shaped cat bed built around a wood turntable base with a built-in catnip ball track toy, combining sleeping and play in one whimsical all-season design. Finished in natural, with the grain left where you can see it. Acacia is hard-wearing, with a grain that runs pale gold to deep brown across a single board. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 8 x 6 x 4 in (20 x 15 x 10 cm) and weighs about 0.3 kg.
