Acacia Wood Round Cat Bed / End Table

A acacia wood round cat bed / end table built to order in solid acacia in our Saharanpur workshop. Dual-purpose enclosed cat bed and side table with a heavy-duty solid wood frame and rounded edges, wrapped in dust-free sisal with an inner vertical scratch post and fluffy-lined cave entrance; doubles as a Nordic-style end table or stool. Finished in natural wood with muted beige sisal, with the grain left where you can see it. Acacia is hard-wearing, with a grain that runs pale gold to deep brown across a single board. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 20 x 16 x 10 in (51 x 41 x 25 cm) and weighs about 5.7 kg.
