A acacia wood dog bed / pet sofa in solid acacia, made one at a time rather than run off a line. Velvet dog bed pet sofa with solid wood legs and bent wood back. Finished in natural, with the grain left where you can see it. Acacia is hard-wearing, with a grain that runs pale gold to deep brown across a single board. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 24 x 18 x 24 in (61 x 46 x 61 cm) and weighs about 18.3 kg.
